- Continued performance of standard sterile healthcare environment protocols, such as hand hygiene; personnel protective equipment; respiratory etiquette/coughing and sneezing into elbows / the crease or shoulder rather than in hands that can be contaminated with influenza virus particles if they are not cleaned off immediately after touching surfaces around public areas to help prevent it
